Five Minute Friday – Jump

It’s Five Minute Friday, hosted by Lisa-Jo Baker at The Gypsy Mama.  Five minutes of free writing flash mob goodness.

If you aren’t familiar, the rules are simple.  Lisa-Jo Baker gives a single word writing prompt every Friday.   Each of us have five minutes to write and post.  No editing, no second guessing, no fancy stuff.  Just plain writing – straight from the heart. (click HERE for the official rules and details).  Then we go visit other participants and shower them with comment love.

Last week, the word was HERE

This week, the word is JUMP.

Jump? The prompt is jump?

And suddenly it’s 1984 and I’m hearing David Lee Roth and Van Halen.

Jump.

Sigh.

Jump.

When I started blogging, I jumped in with both feet.  I didn’t know where it was going or what the next steps were.  I just knew that I had to write. I knew I had words in my head that just HAD to find their way out to the light of day.

I didn’t just step out in faith.  I jumped.

I jumped in and began to write.  Slowly, I figured out where I was going.  I followed God’s lead.  One step at a time, I walked.

each step in the same directionAnd with slow steady sureness, the steps lead in the same direction.

For months now, I’ve walked, one foot in front of the other.  Always looking to the next stepping stone and no further.  Always stepping in faith.

And jumping.  Leaping in faith over obstacles.  Jumping and hopping from step to step.

But every once in awhile, I look up.  I look farther than the one next step in front of me.

When I do, I can see where God’s path is leading me.

the view is marvelousI can see the view from here and it is marvelous.

All because I jumped.

STOP.

I have a passion for encouraging weary worn out mothers to find joy in everyday motherhood and peace in unlikely places. I have two elementary school boys, one nerdy husband, and two cats. I have a strange fascination for bad puns, the color pink, socks, and books. I worry about running out of toilet paper, wine, and chocolate.. I serve an amazing God. I live an ordinary life filled with wonder.

    • I’m so glad you can see the Jump video in your head. That song is stuck in my head the rest of the day. Sigh.

Thanks for visiting and commenting. I appreciate it.
