I am a lucky women!

one lucky womanI’m quite serious, I feel like a very lucky woman this morning.

I suspect there’s a catch.

Right now, the rest of my family is upstairs cleaning house.  My husband is supervising the boys AND vacuuming.

I’m downstairs, goofing off.

But before I headed downstairs, I heard my hubby mumble something about changing the sheets on our bed and starting the laundry.

The kids are supposed to be sorting socks and putting them away.

Wow.  I haven’t even fed anyone breakfast yet.

Hmmm.  There has to be a catch.

Hubby is even saying he wants to take everyone out to an omelette bar just as soon as he gets all the trash out of the house.

Meanwhile, I’m curled up in my favorite chair, writing.

I’m either the luckiest woman in the world, or my husband has some serious explaining to do.  While I appreciate the unexpected (and undeserved) pampering from my family, I’m a wee bit suspicious.

I also feel a tiny bit guilty because I was contemplating a sick day.

Seriously, I’m torn.

I want to just relax and feel thankful.  I want to just enjoy the moment.  I want to feel blessed.

But there has to be a catch.  No woman is this lucky!

Oh wait… I bet I know what this is about.

Our Saturday is being invaded.

My painter isn’t done yet, and he’s due to show up and paint the porch.  At least he’s been outside all week.

The concrete crew is coming back and they are spraying all the concrete around the pool to make it look pretty.

(so i have work crews around EVERY door into and out of the house.  all at the same time.  nice.)

And the plumber is due.  Because apparently my day wouldn’t be complete without someone making a mess in at least one bathroom.

Oh, and I forgot.  My husband decided to do the tile work himself.

(the good news is that his tile job should provide some great blogging opportunities.)

Sigh.  My kids have migrated downstairs.  They’re peeking out the back doors (they can’t go out the doors) and yelling.

Mommy!  It’s going to look incredible!

They’re right.  It will.

And that makes me one lucky woman.

I have a passion for encouraging weary worn out mothers to find joy in everyday motherhood and peace in unlikely places. I have two elementary school boys, one nerdy husband, and two cats.
