My son is STILL a picky eater – even with soup.

Sigh.  By now my battles with my youngest son (aka Mr Picky) are legendary.  Even my most hard-core “helpful” relatives have quit giving me advice on my picky eater.

Let’s put it this way: If you can pin it, I’ve tried it.

My Kids Make Me Laugh: Beans

It’s Tuesday, my kids make me laugh, and I promised to tell you the second half of the bean story.

The best part of the whole thing is when my kids realize just how mischievous I really am.

If you recall from yesterday’s post on beans, my picky child refused to eat my (very tasty and frugal) homemade refried beans. Instead, he insisted on saying the ones from a restaurant were better.

Me:  GoGo, WHICH restaurant is better?

GoGo:  All of them. I don’t like your beans.

After I pressed them on the subject, both of my kids actually did have a favorite refried bean restaurant.   [Read more…]

Happy Birthday Son!

Last Saturday, my youngest turned eight.

GoGo has asked that his blog name be changed.  He says he hates it.  Since half the time I refer to him as Mr Picky, I guess I can’t argue with him.   My second grader is growing up.  I’m not thrilled with leaving his name as Mr Picky either, but I’m stumped at what else to call him.  Sigh.

For my long term readers, you’ll be so proud of me!  There’s now a New Year’s Resolution I can cross off the list.

We did the whole birthday party thing for him!  Since his actual birthday was on a Saturday, we even managed to hold the party on his actual birthday.  For him, that was a huge deal.
