Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine's DayHappy Valentine’s Day friend.  I hope that today is all that you hope for.

I’m busy running around being crazy today.  I’ve got kid’s parties, a husband who wants me to shave my legs, and some random meetings.  When my kids get out of school I’ll be dealing with two boys that are hyped up on sugar and stuff.

But I wanted to tell you

If you don’t get flowers, you aren’t alone.

If you’re single and dateless, it could be worse (trust me).

If you dread Valentine’s Day, you really should check what I wrote in my newsletter (or share it with a single friend – trust me).

If you dread your kid’s school party today, so did I.

(update: my son threw a fit over those low-sugar whole grain treats i sent to school for his Valentine’s exchange. he tried to scrounge through our panty to find an alternative. it was not pretty.

i sent him to school with tears running down his face.  i feel like a total loser of a mom and it’s not even 8am.

the worst was when i told him “valentine’s day is the day when boys do what they don’t want to do in order to make the girl in their life happy.  get used to it.”  eek.)

No matter what, be thankful for love.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Tonight we’ll be at home.  I’m hoping to get the kids put to bed early, but with all the sugar they’ve eaten that’s doubtful.  I’m thankful we live on a cul-de-sac street so that I can send them out for a few laps to burn off their energy without destroying my home.

(oh wait, the plumber is doing a fine job of destroying my home anyway.  he just tore new holes in the freshly painted walls.)

And before I forget – hubby came through with the fancy kitchen gadget I asked for this year.  He took me to lunch on Tuesday and totally shocked me by going to the kitchen store and letting me buy my first ever Le Creuset pot.  It’s red and I’m in love with it.

Isn’t he wonderful?

Hope you are having a fabulous Valentine’s Day, no matter what!
