As the school year comes to a close, it seems appropriate to share some thankful thoughts on just how much I love my school and appreciate the teachers.

This has nothing to do with the fact that they’ve cared for my kids during the day for the past ten months (giving more time to be kid free and do whatever it is I do all day).  It has everything to do with the fact that my kids go to an amazing school.  I’m blessed.  My kids are blessed.  And I’m thankful.

There’s a long list of reasons why, but on my heart today are the PEOPLE that make up the school.

I love my school and appreciate the teachers.

Today’s thankful thoughts are all about napping.  I love to nap.  Napping rocks.  Mmmm….nap….

mmmm.  huh?  what?

Oh yeah. Napping.

Now that I’ve finished my Sunday afternoon nap, it occurs to me just how thankful I am when I get a quality naps.

Today isn’t going like I thought, but that doesn’t mean I can’t share some thankful thoughts with you.  Today has turned out to be kind of icky (ok, REALLY icky).  Even in these circumstances, there are things I’m thankful for.

I’m just going to share what I’m thankful for this morning – I think you’ll know why my day is disrupted.

10 Things I Can Be Thankful For

(even when things aren’t going as planned)

1.  Toilet paper.  To be more specific, really soft toilet paper.

2. My Washer and Dryer.  They work. The washer has a much-needed sanitize feature that I’m oh-so-thankful for today.

Today, I’m sharing some thankful thoughts about praying for our nation.

Way back in July of 2012 when my blog was young and I was still finding my voice, I posted 2 Chronicles 7:14 as an art file in honor of Independence Day.

No words.  No commentary from me.  Just this simple artwork.

It was only a matter of time until I wrote down some thankful thoughts about my cats.

Honestly, this would be a post about how amazing my dog is, except that I’m allergic to dogs.  I had dogs growing up and I miss them dearly.  Sigh.

When I first learned that I was allergic to dogs, I was hesitant to try a cat as a “dog surrogate.”  Cats and dogs are mortal enemies, and I just couldn’t see it working out.

But, I was a single woman who worked way too many hours a week.  I had no social life.  I needed a reason to go home at night.

So I adopted Bob.

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for me to share some thankful thoughts on laughter.  One of the sounds I treasure the most is the sound of my children laughing.

In many ways, I’ve studied the sound of laughter most of my adult life.
