Recently, I shared that (much to my confusion) I was turning into somewhat of a gym bunny. It was a tongue and cheek post (I still shop in the plus size department, there’s no way anyone would look and me and say “gym bunny”) but it does celebrate some of the changes I’ve seen in my life since the first of the year.

10 Opportunities for a Fresh Start

Today is the day my kids (finally) headed back to school after a long Christmas break.  It’s also the day my husband (finally) went back to work.  Tomorrow, I get a fresh start.

Since we live in Houston Texas, it’s unlikely that we’ll be missing any school days due to snow.  As long as the heaters in the school work, we should be fine.  If you’re curious, it was 28 degrees with a 56 percent humidity when we woke up this morning.  In a home with all tile floors and only a forced air heating system, that’s mighty chilly.

Happy Half-Year Day

Today should be celebrated as “Half-Year Day.”

I’m officially adding it to our family calendar and traditions.

It’s July 1st.  That makes it as close to half-way through the year as I care to calculate.   So today is the perfect time to re-group, re-think, and re-prioritize.

It’s a good time to check in on my resolutions for the year and make adjustments, just like way back when I was sailing out of sight of land.
