I have a passion for encouraging weary worn out mothers to find joy in everyday motherhood and peace in unlikely places. I have two elementary school boys, one nerdy husband, and two cats. I have a strange fascination for bad puns, the color pink, socks, and books. I worry about running out of toilet paper, wine, and chocolate.. I serve an amazing God. I live an ordinary life filled with wonder.

  1. Susan – you ROCK! This is an awesome list and encouragement for us to step out of the box! I have to admit, I am passionate about #4. Drives the family crazy but I can’t tell you how many times it has defused a challenging situation or has been so super crazy that we double up laughing!

    • Paula, #4 is a personal favorite of mine too! I also make up very silly limericks. My kids are doing the eye roll thing when I bombard them with bad poetry.

  2. I think I am currently working on #10 & #48. I really like #50. That would work well around here with my picky crew!

    • #50 can be fun. Building fantasy menus that I know I’ll never cook is a fun way to pass an afternoon during the holidays. It was particularly appealing when I didn’t have a kitchen of my own (during the remodel). But with my picky kids, sometimes it’s better to just day-dream about grilled vegetables and lentils than to actually cook them.

  3. you always have such great ideas…I am so going try a bunch of things from that list babe.

Creating does make us happy, it’s a sense of pride and contentment.

  4. I think fishing in a river is ones of the best for relax 🙂

  5. Always be yourself and do something you enjoy.

  6. I’m into arts these days, most, #62 painting, #63 Charcoal, and #64 watercolor. These makes me relax and forget about my worries.

  8. Great ideas Susan, decorating for christmas is a great way to express your love to your family, but sculpting could be a great way to express your creativity.

  9. I want to try some wood working. I’m more of a builder type of personality and combined with my obsession with HGTV, I look forward to knocking down walls and creating open concept floor plans.

  10. I love #15 – I always love decorating my house with elegant designs. I also love my new paint color of my room wherein it gives me peace especially when I’m tired.
