Joy oh Joy – It’s Saturday!

31 days of joy in motherhoodI’m Joy-filled this Saturday.

I live in Houston Texas and the weather couldn’t be better.  It’s perfect open-window weather.  Since we get about three days a year like this, it’s a big deal.

I have a new car.  The old one had 225,000 miles on it, so I figure it was time.

We won our soccer games and are headed out to the deer lease.  That means I get the rest of the weekend off from cooking or cleaning stuff.

Today I’m pointing out some articles on Happiness that were written before the 31 Days of Joy in Motherhood series began. It’s good stuff (at least I think so) and it belongs with this topic.

I hope you en JOY your day

I wrote about measuring your happiness in a post asking “How Happy Are You?”  It’s a cool idea, because the act of measuring your happiness may actually help you BE happier.

Happier is better, right?

There’s some great quotes on happiness, and you can download them if you want to.  (click here –> Happiness Quotes)

I explain how (and why) to create your very own personalized happiness list.  It’s a great way to work on your intentional happiness.  If you want, there’s even a workbook to use to develop your own list.

The download includes 1,001 ideas that will make you happy.

There’s a checklist of ten simple things you might have forgotten when you’re having a bad day.

Hint – did you remember to drink water and take your vitamins today?

And lastly, there’s a rather controversial discussion about whether or not you can fake happiness.

I think you can, but that it’s not always a good idea.

While you’re poking around in the archives, you can enjoy seeing how I’ve evolved my voice and writing style over the past few months.  It’s still me, it’s just me before I knew how to put things on a blog page in a way that makes them easier to read.

Or, you could go out and play with your kids.

Play = Joy

Have a great weekend.   I’ll post again when we get back from camping.  It’s off schedule and I’m sorry up front.

I have a passion for encouraging weary worn out mothers to find joy in everyday motherhood and peace in unlikely places. I have two elementary school boys, one nerdy husband, and two cats. I have a strange fascination for bad puns, the color pink, socks, and books. I worry about running out of toilet paper, wine, and chocolate.. I serve an amazing God. I live an ordinary life filled with wonder.
