Attention RSS Feed Users

If you subscribe to my blog via RSS (and I know dozens do – waiving hi) then things may get a bit wonky.  If so, I’m sorry.  It’s not my fault.

I had been using Google’s free service (Feedburner) for RSS.

Apparently, Google doesn’t want to provide that service any longer.

Until I find a better solution, I’ve moved back to the basic RSS feed that comes with my blog software (WordPress).  You shouldn’t have to do anything on your side.

It’s not just me – every single feed through RSS has the potential to be impacted.

I wanted you to know that I’m not going anywhere.  If I suddenly stop showing up in your RSS feed, it’s not because I quit writing.  It’s because of technical issues.

I have a passion for encouraging weary worn out mothers to find joy in everyday motherhood and peace in unlikely places. I have two elementary school boys, one nerdy husband, and two cats. I have a strange fascination for bad puns, the color pink, socks, and books. I worry about running out of toilet paper, wine, and chocolate.. I serve an amazing God. I live an ordinary life filled with wonder.

    • Patty, I think there’s no need to panic. Google says they will provide support through October 20th so there is time for a reasoned decision. Moving back to the wordpress version of RSS means there is no easy way to know how many people are subscribed. I’m balancing that with the desire to provide un-interupted service. I may just let the dust settle for a few months before I make another change. By that time, the dust will have settled. I want something that is user friendly, reliable, provides stats, and isn’t going to cost me anything. Right now, I’ll sacrifice stats in favor of the other criteria.
