Thankful Thoughts – Thanksgiving

thankful thoughts 31daysAfter taking a tiny break from my blog (and all social media) I’m ready to share some thankful thoughts.

It’s Sunday.  How could I stay away?

I adore November.  Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday all year long.

I love that my Facebook page is covered with thankfulness.

I don’t know where it started, but for the past few years, most of my friends list one thing they are thankful for as a Facebook status each day.  Some of them get behind and play catch up.  Some of them get a little sappy or silly.

But I love the tone of my news feed this month.give thanks - freedom of speech

Inevitably, there’s something I read that makes me go “oh yeah, I’m thankful for that too.”

I love that.

Thanksgiving is simple.

No matter how hard I’ve tried, I can’t make Thanksgiving complicated.

Honestly, simple is best.

There’s no Thanksgiving tree to decorate.  No Thanksgiving candy.  No Thanksgiving presents to shop and wrap.

thankful thoughts on plumbingFor many years, I had the luxury of just showing up at my mom’s house, sitting down to eat, and then going home when I was done.  (being single has some benefits)

Now that I’ve hostessed (and cooked then whole blooming meal) for all the major holidays, I can honestly say that Thanksgiving is the easiest.

Who are you thanking?

As you post your Thanksgiving thoughts on Facebook or Twitter or your own blog, take a moment and ask yourself

who is the YOU in “thank you?

All that thankfulness is directed at someone.

Join me in thankfulness.

As much as I love Thanksgiving, I just didn’t have it in me to do a full 30 days of thankfulness on my blog.

But I am sharing it on Facebook.

(yes, the art in this post is what i’m sharing on Facebook each day.)

It’s not too late to join in.

Be thankful.  I dare you.

I have a passion for encouraging weary worn out mothers to find joy in everyday motherhood and peace in unlikely places. I have two elementary school boys, one nerdy husband, and two cats. I have a strange fascination for bad puns, the color pink, socks, and books. I worry about running out of toilet paper, wine, and chocolate.. I serve an amazing God. I live an ordinary life filled with wonder.
