Moms have super powers

I have long suspected that moms have super powers. We seem to have eyes in the back of our heads, some kind of weird super-hearing, and the ability to freeze time.  Yes, moms are super heroes.

But until today, I could never prove it logically.

Now I can.

Follow along with this story and see exactly what I mean.

Moms have super powers

GoGo was unusually thoughtful and quiet the other day.  I asked him a question and he didn’t even answer me.  He later told me he was busy making pictures in his head.  Like any good mom, I asked him what the pictures were about.  He told me he was imagining what it would be like to be a super hero.

Me: If you were a super hero, what super power do you think you would want the most?

GoGo: I don’t know!

Me:  Would it be flying?

GoGo:  Nah, all super heroes can fly!

Me:  Are you sure?  What about Batman?

GoGo:  He flies.  He just uses a flying machine.

At this point I got busy making pictures in my own head.

All super heroes fly.  I fly using a machine (a plane) just like Batman.  Therefore, I am a super hero.

All moms fly, therefore all moms are super heroes.

All moms have super powers.

(Yes, I know the logic is flawed, just go with it.)

I am a super hero!  I am super mom!  I have super powers.

I just normally wear my cape flipped around front, like an apron.. and I wouldn’t get caught wearing a leotard and tights in public.

I’m thinking about ordering this apron from Amazon, just to remind me of all my super powers.  I probably would if the inside was bright red and satiny like I imagine my super cape to be.

Just out of curiosity, what super power do you think would help you as a mom the most?

I’ve always wanted super speed so I could rush around and get the house clean at lightening speed.

I'm a MOM... what's YOUR superpower?

I have a passion for encouraging weary worn out mothers to find joy in everyday motherhood and peace in unlikely places. I have two elementary school boys, one nerdy husband, and two cats. I have a strange fascination for bad puns, the color pink, socks, and books. I worry about running out of toilet paper, wine, and chocolate.. I serve an amazing God. I live an ordinary life filled with wonder.

Fun post! I want the ability to blink my eyes and have stuff accomplish itself (think Bewitched). Dinner would make itself. Dishes would wash themselves. You get the idea.

    • I always liked her super speed thing where she moved around like she was in fast-forward.

My kids are convinced I can read their minds. I am NOT telling them any different.

  2. I love that apron! After the last week around here, weather changing powers like Storm in X-Men sound pretty good.

    • I seriously want that apron! I know the weather has stunk for you! I saw all the beautiful photos of snow on your blog. I hope it all goes away soon and you get a beautiful spring.
